700 tonne compression load cells for demanding offshore application 📰
2nd Oct 2026These 700 tonne load cells are due to be installed on an offshore Floating Production, Storage and Offloading vessel (FPSO), where reliability, safety and accurate load measurements are critical. Designed and manufactured to our customer’s exact specifications, the load cells feature a low-profile design to accommodate the limited space available within the mounting arrangement. As they will operate within a hazardous environment, the load cells are supplied with Ex d (explosion proof) certification and can be used in Zones 1 and 2 hazardous areas. They have mounting plates top and bottom for secure attachment to the mounting assembly and have cable protection brackets to minimise any risk of damage to the cables. ABS have also witnessed proof load and calibration to ensure suitability for the application.
